We remind all dog owners and dog walkers that in the Town of Mahone Bay dogs must be on a leash and under the control of the person with the dog on private property. This includes all streets, sidewalks, recreation spaces, and trails.
And please remember the clean-up bags; the Town of Mahone Bay Dog By-law states that it is an offense for an owner to not clean up the dog's feces. Nobody wants THAT ticket. Monday, January 11th Curbside pick up for natural Christmas Trees is scheduled for Monday, January 11th. Please be sure to have your natural tree curbside by 8am and take extra care that the tree is free of ALL ornaments, tinsel, and any other decoration.
The Town of Mahone Bay's Christmas Trees will once again go to a local goat farmer so that our trees can be recycled for recreation, shelter, and snacks for the goats. This arrangement provides a way to recycle our trees, support local business, and manage waste management costs to the Town by avoiding tipping fees. This opportunity benefits us all, so please take extra care so that we can continue to recycle our Christmas Trees! Are you a low-income homeowner? Do you spend more than 50 percent of your income to run your home? Direct support is available for eligible homeowners through the Canada-Nova Scotia Targeted Housing Benefit. Working together, we are making housing more affordable for vulnerable people.
