The Town has partnered with the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg whose Recreation Dept organizes and promotes recreation and cultural activities in Town of Mahone Bay facilities. If you are interested in a program or activity you can contact the Recreation Dept at (902) 541-1344.

From wooded walking trails to tennis courts, kayaking, cycling, an outdoor pool, and a wide selection of fitness classes, there is much to keep this community active and healthy. Mahone Bay is also a community of dynamic volunteer organizations and activities.

Active Living

It is possible to walk everywhere for all one's needs. Behind the residential streets are many wooded areas with trails, brooks and streams - ideal for leisurely strolls or energetic hikes. We have water gardens and a duck pond.  Jubilee Park offers wooded trails, a children's playground, a ball field and an outdoor swimming pool where swimming lessons and public swims are available during the summer months. Also in Jubilee Park are tennis courts with lessons and open courts all summer.

softballVarious fitness activities are available throughout town - yoga, tai chi, fitness classes, walking clubs, floor hockey, badminton, softball and more. For information on activities contact The Mahone Bay Centre (tel: 902-624-0890), the Town Hall (tel: 902-624-8327) or contact the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg Recreation Department (tel: 902-543-8181).
