Sort Garbage

Recycling may be placed curbside in either a clear or blue bag; garbage is to be placed in clear bags, with the exception that each household is permitted one opaque (non transparent) 'privacy' bag per garbage collection. Get a Green Bin

Green bins are available for sale at Town Hall at 493 Main Street.

140L = $55+HST; 240L = $62+HST

Once payment is received, the green bin will be delivered to the address specified in Town limits.

Apply for a Utility Account

The Town of Mahone Bay operates an Electric and a Water Utility. New utility customers are required to sign a utility contract and advise Town staff when the new utility is to be connected.

For information on deposit amounts and to make arrangements to begin or end utility service, please call the Town Hall at (902) 624-8327 or visit in person at 493 Main Street from Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.


Pay My Bills

Payments are accepted by cash, debit or cheque during regular office hours, Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.

A lock box is available by the front door at Town Hall for those who wish to drop off a payment after hours. If making an after hours deposit, please be sure to include customer account information.

Payments can also be made through online banking with most major banking institutions.


Report a Stray/Lost Dog

If you find a stray dog, or lose your dog, please contact Brian Truelove, Animal Control Officer,                             by phoning (902) 277-0017.

Dogs in the Town of Mahone Bay are required to be registered with the Town and to wear a dog tag. Dog tags are renewable every year and are available for FREE. (There is a $5 fee for replacement tags)
