100 Trees: 100 Years - Project Launch!
We had a wonderful day on May 23rd with the official launch of the 100 Trees: 100 Years Project!
The afternoon started with an illustrated talk by urban forestry expert, Professor Peter Duinker, and then everyone moved outside for a tree planting. Mayor Devenne planted the first tree of the project, a red oak which will provide shade for visitors to Jubilee Park while they enjoy the bench by the duck pond.
Do you want to be a part of this project? We have started the tree registry at Town Hall and we already have privately planted trees registered! Plant your tree and come tell us about it at Town Hall: your tree will be added to the registry, you will receive a project pin with your number on the registry, and you will be given a tree identification marker. You'll also contribute to the beauty and health of your yard as well as that of the Town - it's win-win!
